Sacred banana tree
One day Paung and me and 2 dear friends were at Wat Cha-It in the province of Nonthaburi. There was going to be this Buddhist ceremony later that evening called 'สวดภาณยักษ์'
In front of the tent where the ceremony was held, there was this tiny banana tree sitting in a pot, it served some purpose for the ritual, not sure what though.
After the ritual, Paung was given the little tree and we took it back home.
I dug a hole in the garden and put planted the tree in the soil. We have been watering it ever since (if there was no rain of course).
Now Paung sent me these pictures of how big the tree has become and obviously it grows a lot of bananas!
Not sure whether its current size is due to the fact the tree is a sacred one as it served during the Buddhist ritual or..
We have 3 dogs and they use the garden as their bathroom.. furtilizer!

Windows Wallpaper
I guess most people using a Windows computer all know the section where you select which wallpaper you would like to use. I especially liked those 'nature' wallpapers for example a picture grass with drops of morning dew or gigantic leafs with raindrops on them. After a shower we had in Bang Bua Thong where I was living at the time, I walked in the garden and noticed the raindrops sitting on the leafs of our banana trees. And how much did this look like the Windows wallpapers! So I took out my camera and made a shot of one of the leafs with raindrops. Only this one is not enhanced or photoshopped but paure nature from Thailand..

Blueberry farm
Paung and me at "t' blauwebosbessen stroatje"
Out in the fields picking blueberries
Mom and Paung with their catch! On August 15 2008 Mom, Paung and me went to a blueberry farm not really far from Tilburg. Here you can pick your blueberries yourself or buy them in plastic containers. Obviously picking them yourself is much more fun! You get a bucket and off you go. There is no limit to what you are allowed to pick. We had nice weather, quite sunny but not hot so we stayed there quite some time. I think we went home with a total of 5 kilos of handpicked Blueberries and 2 bottles with pure Blueberry juice!Posted via email from iPatrick

Khun Mae
My Thai Mom!
When I lived in Bang Bua Thong Lagoon village with Paung, there was this security lady in the front of the village opening and closing the gate for residents and visitors.
One day I started calling her 'Khun Mae' or 'คุณ แม่' in Thai language. She really liked the thought of having her first Western son!

JoopJoop
This crosstitch work of art was made by my lovey fiancee Paung and it took her 3 months to complete. Paung sent it to me as a gift for our 4th anniversary on July 25th 2011. The name of the artwork is "Walk like a Tiger" and could be chosen more perfectly as my Chinese starsign is Tiger :-) Thank yo ...Walk like a Tiger
